Poached Pears with Chocolate Sauce

·      2 pears, firm

·      1 teaspoon vanilla essence

·      1 teaspoon cinnamon

·      ¼ cup Norbu

·      ¼ cup thickened cream

·      ¼ cup coconut oil

·      ¼ cup cacao powder

·      ¼ cup chopped roasted almonds


Preheat oven to 180C

1.     Grease a baking dish.

2.     Slice the pears in half and place in the baking dish. Pour over the Norbu, vanilla essence and cinnamon. Pour in ½ cup hot water and cover. Place in the oven.

3.     Make the sauce by heating the cream and coconut oil in a saucepan over medium low heat until it starts to bubble. Remove from heat and then whisk in the cacao powder.

4.     Remove the pears from the oven and then drizzle with the chocolate sauce and scatter over almonds.
